It is my tremendous honor to be representing Mujer, Inc. and serving as this year’s President. This year we embark upon our 29th year as a well-established Latina based organization of outstanding professional women. Approximately 15 years ago, Mujer, Inc. adopted a “community outreach mission” which we continue to work towards achieving. We are a group of volunteers who collectively work towards positively affecting change in the number of young Latinas who graduate from high school and go on to pursue higher education. Mujer, Inc. provides a Leadership Retreat each November which is designed for Latinas ages 13 to 18. Members of Mujer are directly involved in this program as they serve as models, mirrors and mentors that not only provide the grass root efforts required to deliver this incredible program known as our Project Mana Program, but also serve to demonstrate through example the profound impact our heritage and cultural pride has on our individual successes. If you have not yet had an opportunity to participate actively in any of our fund raising events or in the Project Mana Program itself and you are looking to get more involved with Mujer, Inc. please let me know. I will do all I can to get you connected to our organization in order that you too can experience this extraordinary group of Mujeres! We hold quarterly general membership meetings in March; June; September and December and we have four active committees that you can select from to participate directly in: Project Mana Committee; Membership Committee; Resource Development Committee and the Marketing Committee. If you are a Mujer who is interested in giving back to the community or has a desire to experience comadrizmo at is finest, please consider joining our organization, you will find our program fulfilling and rewarding. If you are unable to commit the time but would like to become a member of Mujer, Inc. who attends our fundraising events, please know that your membership to our organization at a cost of $40.00 helps us in defraying the costs associated with sending 100 of our Latina students to this Retreat and therefore you are contributing to this very valuable program.
